Coventry Transport Museum – GAB Handyman Service Area

Coventry Transport Museum is an interesting transport museum, situated in the beautiful and historic city of Coventry, England. It was established in the 1930s as an educational institute dedicated to the study of transport. In total it has about eighty buildings including tunnels, coaches, stations and buses. It is set to expand in the future, but for now it houses a collection of about one hundred and forty artifacts, some of them historical while others are contemporary. It is run by the Free Enterprise Association and is open to the public on certain days of the week.

There are several different sections of this museum including the Road Transport History Centre, the Coventry Transport Museum and the Transport Exhibition Centre. The Road Transport History Centre features a large collection of vintage automobiles and motorbikes from the period of the Victorian era right up to the present day. There are also sections devoted to the history of motor-bike motoring in the UK, plus there are the Coventry Cycling Museum and the Warwickshire Motorcycle Museum. There is even a section dedicated to buses in the museum.

The Coventry Transport Museum displays British bus vehicles manufactured during the sixteenth and seventeenth century. These include double deckers, small coaches, flat beds and numerous models of private and public buses. A great number of these were lost during World War I, which is why they are preserved so carefully. The exhibits feature some of the most famous examples of British bus technology including such iconic vehicles as the “Queen City Coaches”. Another section of the museum displays the various types of urban and rural roads in the UK, with a focus on bus transport in general. There are also sections on the history of motor-bikes in the UK and the manufacture of these vehicles in Coventry and elsewhere in the UK.

The Coventry Transport Museum houses the largest privately owned collection of British vehicles, with an estimated total value of over two million pounds. Some of the vehicles have been in the museum for over eighty years, while others are only a few years old. The majority of the collection is made up of vintage buses, coaches and other vehicles, which have been preserved by the public at large, allowing the public to view many different models.

The Coventry Transport Museum also holds a private collection of antique vehicles. It is hoped that many of the vehicles in the private collection will one day be sold for a profit. The Museum also houses a model railway network, which allows visitors to get up close and personal with local model railways. There are many model railways operated by private owners in and around the UK. These include Virgin Trains, which operate in the West Country, and the famous Southern Railway which runs from London to the Scottish capital.

The Museum also houses an exhibition, The Making of the British Car Industry, which showcases some of the history of the motor car industry in the UK, as well as information on the changes that have taken place over the last century. It is hoped that this exhibition will help people appreciate more fully the role that the British car industry plays in their everyday lives. The Coventry Transport Museum also has a number of permanent exhibits, including the newly reconstructed Great War railway, which was damaged during the World War I.
